STORY: Yiru, a Chinese teenager travels to Los Angeles with her mother in search of her long lost sister who now resides in the United States due to the one child policy. Yiru grapples with feelings of isolation and longing for her mothers love as the search intensifies.
Apart, Together is an American Film Institute Conservatory Thesis Film. During the film’s festival run it has toured over 40+ festivals and won numerous awards including the 2020 DGA award, The 2022 Windrider Summit presented by The Sundance Institute and most notably winning the 2021 GSA BAFTA for Best Live Action Short. In 2022 “Apart, Together” was acquired by Amazon as a Prime Exclusive.
